shaving products natural shave products Useful Information

I bought this for my husband to try instead of his usual after shave. I want him to try a brand without all the parabens and toxins in it. I’ll be returning this product before he even tries it. I should have looked it up before I bought it. This after shave scores VERY high on toxicity level on cosmetic databse. Most of the time, Jason’s Naturals is safe, but not this product. My search continues…..[keyword]natural+shave+products[/keyword][yahooquestion]natural+shave+products[/yahooquestion]

As the owner/operator of [...] testing eco-friendly products to review on my site is my job. But, I have to rely on my husband as a guinea pig for Avalon Organic Cream Shave. As it turns out, he’s very happy for the change. This product works great for his heavy stubble but doesn’t irritate his skin. Additionally, the cream is somewhat transparent which allows him to see what he’s doing a plus when putting razor to skin.

According to Avalon this product is made with Consciousness in Cosmetics — no parabens, petroleum-based ingredients, sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate or other harsh preservatives or chemicals
    * No synthetic fragrances or colors
    * pH balanced
    * 100% vegetarian ingredients and no animal testing

I was not sure if I would like this shaving cream but it turned out to be great! It does not lather up like the standard/cheap shaving creams but it still does the job. I shave my head almost every day and do not use/need a lot as a little goes a long way with this stuff.

In fact, I cut myself less with the Avalon Organics shaving cream than with the cheaper brands. Primary motivation for buying this shaving cream involves wanting to use more products that are not tested on animals.

This is an excellent product…try it!

I buy this bulk and for being organic it’s a good deal. Smells ok and works great. Smooth/creamy shave.
I would have given it 5 stars but I think some ingredients need to improve for that!
    Highly recommend.

I’ve tried most everything else that wasn’t full of mysterious chemical names. This does the best job and makes your face feel cool and smooth. My next best choice would be pure aloe gel, simple as that. Try it, you’ll love it.

I was taken in by the product description and decided to give it a go. I was very surprised at how good this product was. This experience changed how I shave and look at shaving products. Since using the All Natural Shaving Oil I have tried others and the best by far (so far!) is a product called Ozeoil from Australia. It is fantastic, great smell, nice balance of menthol and it gives a great shave. Check them out at [...]. Get into shaving oils – they will change your life.

I’ve purchased similar oils at $20 or more, this oil works just as well for much less, I wish I had found it sooner. I seem to get a equally close shave w/o burns despite this having a slightly different consistency, its not as thick as other oils I’ve tried but still works good and helps prolong the life of my razors.

  8. Cash says:

It’s amazing, you just shave as you wish, making triple passes if you want. And when you are done and as smooth as you wish, there are no razor burns! No pain or stings and no cuts!! And the price is awesome!!!

I have rapidly growing and thick black hair. Well 50% black at this point and the hair grows everywhere except on my head!! But I do shave my face every morning and sometimes twice a day.Early September we were planning a 2 week backpack tour of Eastern Europe which meant packing as lightly as possible. Last time I flew a brand new shaving cream got confiscated because it was a 4 oz container not 3.I had casually mentioned I this with a friend who just returned from the Galapagos and he mentioned shaving oils. A search on Amazon brought up this item and I ordered a 3 pack as the bottles seemed to be small.I was astounded. 8-10 drops on a wet face will cover the shaving are, even on a big mug like mine. There is a very light foaming action that is barely noticeable but a useful guide to make sure every inch is covered. The disposable razor I use guides over smoothly and best of all does not clog up. Keeping the blade wet helps with a smooth gliding action. The oil gives off a a faint pleasant aroma that reminds me of orange and lemon rinds with trace of sandalwood (I have a strange sense of smell my wife tell me). The aroma does not stay as soon as the face is rinsed off so unfortunately an for me an aftershave is still needed. It is now 8 weeks since I started shaving daily with this product and the bottle is still half full. My problem is my wife heard me raving about this product and she stole it for her own use on her legs. She mentions this to our daughter who, while visiting from NY, decides to take the third bottle with her.I have gone ahead and ordered another supply, this time the big 2 oz. bottle. Incidentally using the oil as a base under shaving cream gives a luxurious feeling shave. It is not necessary and too much trouble for everyday shaves (I can be spoilt so quickly)but I can envision someone with super sensitive skin using this combination method.Incidentally, security was a breeze and the trip to Prague, Krakow and Budapest was wonderful – also highly recommended, but then I am getting sidetracked.

I could get long winded but the title says it all. For ME? It works no better than a couple drops of baby oil. Sorry.

  11. Nghe says:

Husband loves this and the other AC products i got him. Oil has a nice smell that I even like. Shaving cream has a soapy smell, not this.

  12. Clarke says:

I had always used shaving creams and gels and always got my face torn up by the razor. I always got those little white bumps on my neck and irritated skin everywhere else. I got a bottle of this and was amazed at how much better it works. Plus it lasts a long long time.

I use it for both my face and my head in the summer. During the summer I shave the sides of my head for a true “High and Tight” and the shaving oil makes a huge difference in the amount of irritation. I can get a much closer shave and be a lot more comfortable afterward with this stuff.

I highly recommend this product for anyone who has sensitive skin like me but absolutely can not go without a daily (sometimes twice daily) close shave.

  13. Kinton says:

Great stuff. Not a substitute for a good quality shave cream. use this first, then put shave cream on top. best shave ever…

  14. Hickey says:

Never used a shaving oil before but this stuff works great. It took a few times to get used to using. It’s not like lathering on cream. When they say wait 15 to 20 seconds they mean it. I usually wait a few extra to let it really work. Really happy with it, I’ll never go back to shaving cream.

I have been a long time user of American Crew Essential Shave oil. I love the product. This time I got the new FLAT bottle and I don’t seem to like the FLAT bottle. When you try to pour a few drops of shave oil the flat lid design seem to make the liquid go over the lid and it does not drip easily. I have been experimenting with different angles of pouring and still have the problem. My grouse is againt the flat top design and not the product (shave oil). I hope that American Crew will get rid of the flat bottle and revert back to the small tip cap.

Kristin, I missed the sweet potato fries. Looks like I'll have to try those next time!

Jason, thanks for the kind words. I think Cafe Express would be a great fit for north Austin, in particular the area just west of the Domain– near the Arboretum. When I talked with the CEO at the soft opening he said they had investigated lots of location possibilities around Austin before choosing the N. Lamar building. Who knows what's in store next!

I would be happy that he was so successful. I would probably also feel like crap after the crap I had put him through.

I would walk up to him and say hi and apologize for the idiot I was years ago and the crap I put him through and would understand if he never wanted to see me again but at least then the air would be cleared.

But I wouldn't try to date him because he was successful b/c a person can change in 6 years and I wouldn't know Jason and he wouldn't know me.

  21. ladylove says:

Call him. If you really want something done, you gotta do it yourself. Can't be waiting for other people forever. I suggest that you call him so you guys can hang out face to face and then you can bring up the idea of you two becoming a couple.
    Good luck! :)

Maybe hes just watching over you, I've heard a lot about children seeing that kind of thing. One sticks out in my mind. Grandpa died and was and organ donar, child was 2 at the time. Closed casket etc. Anyways kid is 3 with no understanding of death, only knows that grandfather went to stay at God's house. The child told his mother that grandfather had came to visit and wondered why grandfather didn't have any eyes. they had been donated.
