shaving products electric shaving products Related Article

I’ve purchased razors like this before and have never been impressed by how close they can shave, so I used it as an emergency, “yikes! I need to shave fast” razor. This razor is so good, and shaves so closely, it’s now my first choice every time. It’s just as good as hand shaving with a store bought razor; and a whole lot faster. I have used this product for years and love it. Recently all of the stores in my area have stopped stocking Afta and I was very happy to be able to purchase it on Amazon.com.

My husband loves this product, but it is hard to find in stores.
He has used it for years, tried other brands, but always comes back
to Afta. So much easier to just order a quantity on line.

I find that this product helps to raise my beard and makes for a better shave.

I’m glad that amazon carries this product because I can’t find it in my area anymore. I’ve tried many pre-shave conditioners thru the years but this works best for me. I don’t really like buying 12 of these at a time but the price is right and even buying 12 is still cheaper than buying just one of some of the other products I have tried. I will share this with my son and son-in-law who both use this product too. Thanks Amazon for keeping this available to us!

As the title notes, not Williams Lectric Shave. Pros and cons of the stuff by comparison:

    Pros
    - If you’re used to shaving dry, this will be a smooth transition. It’s dry.
    - Easy to apply, less messy than Williams.
    - Not a bad smell, or overpowering to me as some have said. Actually found it fairly mild.

    Cons
    - It’s dry. Really dry, like shaving without lotion. Oh, maybe some lubrication, but if you press even moderately hard, you’ll understand the true meaning of “razor burn” because the head of my Braun gets almost too hot to touch without any lubricant.
    - Probably not quite as smooth a shave as Williams, but that’s very subjective, and likely due to the fact that the razor doesn’t glide over your face as easily as with an oil pre-shave.
    - Takes awhile to dry – maybe an extra 5 minutes, and you DO need to let it dry.

As noted, not being oily is a plus AND a minus. As a pre-shave, it works, and it depends on what you’re used to; level of irritation is about the same with Williams and this product (I’d been using the Williams for sensitive skin, which is hard to come by now). Maybe a little more folliculitis with the Afta, because it likely has ground-up something-or-other in it to provide at least some skin lubrication, but oil is just as bad on some skin.

I finally got tired of waxing & sugaring – too much pain for a week of smoothness and three weeks of stubble as I wait for the hair to be long enough to endure torture again, depilatories & razor shaving irritate my skin and laser takes too much time & money for me…which pretty much left trying a shaver. I chose this model and a month later, here I am happy as a…well as happy as a shaver can make a girl. This produces a result for me that is equilivant to using a razor + 8 hours: no visible stubble and still pretty smooth to the touch. Surprisingly, I get the best and smoothest results on my bikini line, where the results are even better than that of a razor. I also use it on my underarms, it does leave a faint shadow from direct on but for that matter, so does a razor. I suppose if I had a special occasion, I might break out my old Venus but otherwise this is my go-to hair removal for the day-to-day. I am amazed by how close this thing can get, it takes me about 10 minutes to do my legs, underarms and bikini line and no more ingrown hairs or razor bumps. YAY!!!

Oh yes girl, it is a daily thing for me too, a minute by minute thing for me actually! It takes an act of complete surrender. And the consequence of that action is a whole lot better I agree, a whole lot better than me trying to get my needs met instead of letting God do it. Tough stuff, but good stuff. Once again life is a process. Thank you, and hope to see you soon

I would start with a DE to get used to lathering soap and creme. Going from dry electric shaving to straight razor shaving sounds like a bad idea! Go for the cheap and beloved Merkur 34C or Parker 91R. If you want to shell in a little extra, go for a Merkur Progress Adjustable, which you can’t go wrong with.

This song was intended to be for the film “Golden Eye”. When the deal fell through and they went with Tina Turner, they re-tooled the lyrics into “The Juvenile”. I like this better than the song they chose (and I really like Tina’s song) and it makes you wonder “what if?”.
