the replacement knee is in and i get to wear these great decorative tampons over my shaved leg. between the spinal anaesthetic, the nerve blocks and the first doses of morphine, i can’t feel much.

i opted to recover in a small ward and got bumped up to semi-private so only had to share with one person. the first guy went home after i was there 36 hours and he was fine. his replacement, however, was what polite people refer to as an asshole. since i wasn’t ready for battle i asked the nurses to smother him for me, but while sympathetic to my cause (they disliked him nearly unilaterally), they let him live.

In the early morning hours I am to feed the cats. Danya wakes up about an hour before dawn and wants to eat then. As that currently makes it 3:30 or so we are not really ready to feed her then. She doesn’t understand. On this day I went into the computer room instead of down to the food when I got up. All the cats followed me to make sure they didn’t miss out.

A small struggle occured on the cat tree as Danya was able to get to the high ground first.

I then fed them after the struggle.

Danya is our newest cat. We got her from a street cat rescue society who warned us that she had been raised by a feral cat colony and would be very shy around people.
In fact when we got her the only thing shy about her a month later was she didn’t want to be touched. She much prefered to be near humans instead of the other two cats. After a couple of months she started to bump up against us when she wanted something. From there a month later we were able to pet her with our feet. (Not our hands which were still very scary)
A month after that we were able to use our hands as long as she didn’t see them touching her. Then she became willing to let us pet her openly. Then she was shaved to deal with some matts in her hair. After that she was more then willing to sit in our laps (most likely for the warmth)
In summer now and with her hair about half way grown back she isn’t as likely as to sit on your lap but she remains a very lovely cat.

Natural Hair Dye Removal From Carpets

What is the difference between Natural Hair Dye and Non-Natural hair dyes? Well, they are quite different in many ways. Natural hair dye is extracted from plants and vegetables and does not contain ammonia, resorcinol and phenylenediamine. These are common chemicals used in most man-made dyes and are used as bonding agents. This makes any clean-up efforts more difficult! Natural hair dyes are exactly that “natural” and are non-toxic to people and the environment. Without the use of chemicals the removal process is not as difficult! “Household ammonia” or “ammonium hydroxide” is a solution of NH3 in water and can sometimes be used to clean natural substances such as natural hair dye. This process is good for specific applications…not all! Ammonia is caustic and hazardous! So, the treatment process must be done properly! There are also different methods on how to do this treatment (heat & non-heat).

Here are some tips on natural hair dye removal from carpet.

Before the removal process can begin, it’s important to do your research on any chemicals that will be used in the removal process. Most chemicals are caustic and hazardous to humans, plants and animals. They must be used properly and in well ventilated areas. So, do your research! Here are some tips on natural hair dye removal from carpet.

Things you will need:

3-4 white cloth towels (cotton)
5 gallon bucket
Toothbrush
Ammonia (household formula)
Liquid laundry detergent
Warm water
Protective eyewear, nose & mouth

Before attempting to remove natural hair dye from carpet it’s important to take the proper safety measures! Read any chemical labels carefully! This is important! You can harm yourself and the carpet!

Natural hair dye removal steps:

(Liquid laundry detergent)

Use the cotton towel to blot the stain! You will need to apply some pressure for this to work properly. Continue this process until there is no more dye on the white towel. Remove as much dye as possible!
Pour 3 gallons of warm water into the 5 gallon bucket.
Mix ½ cup liquid laundry detergent into warm water (mix thoroughly)
Dip toothbrush into the soapy solution and agitate the stain (agitate gently in a circular motion). Do not rub too hard or you can damage the carpet fibers. The soapy residue will turn the color of the dye. Continue this process until the soapy residue is white. Rinse and treat again if necessary.
Rinse the stain with clean warm water and blot until dry. Continue this process until the soapy residue is gone. The stain should be removed.

Natural hair dye removal steps:

(Ammonia)

Use the cotton towel to blot the stain! You will need to apply some pressure for this to work properly. Continue the process until there is no more dye on the white towel. Remove as much dye as possible.
Mix 1 part ammonia to 4 parts warm water (how much solution is up to you)

Caution! Do not use too much ammonia! This will cause the carpet to dis-color!

Dip toothbrush into ammonia solution and agitate the stain (agitate gently in a circular motion). Do not rub too hard or you can damage the carpet fibers. The stain will begin to fade away. Continue this process until the stain is removed.
Rinse the stain with warm water and blot dry.

Threading can be a very precise and clean way of removing facial hair and hair from other areas. Methods that use creams and wax can be very messy, especially when done at home. However methods such as the No-No are completely mess and pain-free. The No-No can also be completed in a few moments in the comfort of your own home.

Although threading is very safe the disadvantages for most people are too much to bear. After using threading hair removal hair will begin to grow back after around 2 weeks. If however you were to use the No-No this would allow you to go months without any hair re-growth. After the hair does grow back 9 out of 10 people stated that the hair was much finer than it was before. When considering threading hair removal you need to think about whether such an old an outdated hair removal method is for you.
